veiledchamlver Oct 09, 2004 10:38 PM

a 15 gallon has the same floor space as a 20 gallon right. If so could I put 2 leos in it.

what's a good price for a 20 gallon? anyone know some good places that'll ship 20 gallons? If i get two babies a 10 gallon should be fine for awhile right?

I get a 20 gallon long for $33 here from a local petstore. When PetCo opens up here in the next month or so, I should get them cheaper. If you are gonna get it shipped it is gonna cost a fortune because they are heavy, big, and fragile. I don't know if a 10 would be good for two babies, go to Wal-Mart and get those little plastic tupperware things, they are like $2 a piece and probably better. Eeryone on here always says 10 gallons minimum a gecko, but it might be different for babies.

Do not mix bleach and ammonia to clean tanks!

I'm not sure about the floor area, but as long as you have 2-3 hides even a 10 gallon is enough for two leopard geckos. By the way, i have pacific treefrogs too. Arent they awesome??

I heard male leos are like teenage boys, they constantly try to mate with the female.

Bleach, good to clean tanks. Ammonia, good to clean tanks. Bleach mixed with Ammonia, good to make ammonium chloride gas to kill you while your cleaning tanks.

I have a male and a female, its not advised to keep them in a 1:1 ratio. Instead breeders usually have 1:3 or more, because mating is stressful and violent, and like previously mentioned males will not know when to stop. I have kept mine seperate

Hmm.. You CAN keep two leos in a 10 gallon tank, but not comfortably. I honestly look at the leos I keep in 10 gallons singly and wish I had bigger tanks for them. I think if you want two in one cage, get a 15-20 gallon long. That's just my opinion and I just try not to cram the animals into anything. Take care.

do you know where I can get a 15 gallon long and can I keep a 1.1 pair of adults together in the same cage. is there any way I could stop the male from breeding. Or would it be okay if I put in some kind of divider down the middle of the cage.

If you want to keep 2 in a 15 long (which is a good size for 2) just get 2 females so you dont have to be worried about over breeding...
