baby unicolor update

SteveH Oct 09, 2004 11:41 PM

I bought a nice looking baby unicolor from Steve Fuller a couple of months ago that I bought knowing he wasn't feeding yet. I've been tube feeding him all this time and he had put on good weight and size. I'd try live pinkys, lizards, skinks,(he seems to be afraid of dead or alive small snakes?)Anyway this week I put a small live toad in and he went crazy. I then tried to scent a dead pinky with the toad with no luck.So i fed him the toad and then another the next day. I then waited a day and put 3 live fuzzy mice in(gone in minutes)YES! Now all i'm worried about is how much damage i've done by feeding him the 2 baby live toads. If I've learned anything it's these snakes take patience to get started. Steve

For what its worth... Whenever I have a snake that seems to prefer toads or frogs to mice I soak a pinky in warm tuna fish juice and that usually does the trick.

By the way.. Ive included a pic of my unicolor when she was about 4 foot long here... She is now Approx 6 foot and a lot thicker. I'll try and get a new pic up here soon.

I do have a question for anyone out there though.

What is the average price for the following:

CB Unicolor
CB Blacktail
CB Yellowtail

Captive born babies, from what I've seen average:

uni $200.00 more or less when you can find them

B/Ts $100.00 to $200.00 depending on what the parents look like. If they are light colored with stark black tails, they bring more.

Y/Ts $350.00 to $400.00
