Growth rate...more input please

Is a snake's growth in length and width affected by the size of it's cage? You know like some fish won't grow bigger if there is no room. Thanx

I believe it is the ammount of food you give, it also the size of the prey item. I'm not sure about tank size though

I believe that is an Old Wive's tale. You most often hear it from people who buy a large species of snake but who don't want it to get big so they keep it in a cramped cage.

The only way that I can see that a cage size could affect a snakes growth (all other considerations being equal) is if it becomes so cramped that it stresses the snake out. Stress is a major contributor to anorexia in reptiles and it would probably go off it's feed if it's stressed out, thereby affecting the growth rate.
