Winter heat?

duckofdomination Oct 10, 2004 11:35 AM

I was wondering, I live in CT, Near the coast and it gets COLD, Already my leos cage temps are dropping. Should I get a ceramic bulb or other heat source as well as the UTH I already have? Also what is the best way to heat the cage at night? It always gets coldest during the night. Thanks!

That's what I do here in Milwaukee... time to pull out the ceramic heat emmitters and red bulbs and tie them into the thermostat again, and time to watch the electricity bill skyrocket... lol

Lol, that's what sucks about living on the coast! I used to live near the atlantic coastline in Canada and the outside temps got as far as -45*C! A good idea for glass tanks is to build your own wooden lids that has a light fixture built into it. Make sure you screw in holes and put screen over them for ventilation. I wish I had a pic to show you, but all of my lids like that are in Canada. This works awesome for keeping the heat in on those cold nights! Good luck.
