I would think that the guy that sold you this animal is an idiot. Ground turkey can be used when there is nothing else available, but guess what dude what you should feed your sand monitor is mice so if you dont want to feed it mice then you should not have bought it.

I dont have a problem feeding it mice.I gave raw cod today and he loved it.Just trying to have other things avaliable. What about the handling question dude..

About the handling dude.....if you want a lap dog then get one .....but when it comes to monitors dont expect them to be receptive to you. I have had monitors from all spectrums of the behavior scale (there isnt one, but im using this as an example) I have had mean ass bastards like my speckeled water to a very calm salvator that I have now....noticed I did not use the word tame....because to me monitors arent tame theyre just calm or aholes or somewhere in between. So dont expect your little guy to be too receptive to you.

I dont keep anything except for monitors, have had an igg before but they dont ring my bell as much as monitors do.

Glad to hear the female got all the eggs out and is doing good! I absolutely never fed these guys any ground turkey, there is just no need when they have a complete food source as a mouse. Good luck with them, and I'm waiting to see some babies!!
