egg help!!!

maclen Oct 10, 2004 03:46 PM

my pictus(yes i know this is crested forum but Gecko Forum people rarely answer me) laid 3 eggs last night and in my haste i picked them up before marking them. These are my first herp eggs ever and I am nervous and naive. When I picked them up I think one may have rolled over a bit and I tried to put it back in original spot, but i'm not sure. How are the odds of this being a problem, someone told me this isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Also one of the eggs has orange splothches on it, what is it? Last question is there an easy way to make a homemade incubator?

I understand the excitement . It wasnt that long ago that I was wondering how I could look for eggs without disturbing them ..it seemed like there must be some sort of science to it that was lacking in the basic care sheets.

At any rate as long as you moved them in the first day or so..its not a big deal. The embryo attaches itself a little later . Actually ive read posts by people that played with thier eggs all the time and still did ok.(I dont recommend that!)

Here isa link for a homemade incubator that looks pretty good.I bought a commercial model so I cant recommend this one but it looks fine.
