freezing greens??

waldo Oct 10, 2004 04:38 PM

I live in the boonies and its hard to find good greens for my dragon,I got lucky today and stocked up on mustard greens, escrole and collards.I know I bought too much for 1 dragon but it could be weeks before anymore is back on the shelves.I was wondering if its ok to freeze some? I was going to chop it all up and freeze it flat so its easy to remove and thaw a couple days supply at a time.

You can freeze it but when you freeze any veggies they loose Thiamin(vitamin B1). You'll have to buy Thiamin and sprinkle the veggies with it. Here is a great link for this kind of info. It lists many veggies that are good/ bad to feed your bearded dragons.

What about keeping greens in the fridge, not the freezer? Does Thiamine leak out then as well?
