We Need Some Drama Here, Regal Ringneck eating Cobra****

HerperHelmz Oct 10, 2004 04:47 PM

lol I bet that got your attention. Cobra would be some expensive regal food. These are pics of the albino northern ringneck snake found in Arkansas a little while back. The snake is around a foot in length, is a female, has shed in captivity and feeds regularly on worms. Since the last message about it was posted, it changed hands a few times. A guy named Justin has it, I won't say his last name, simply because I don't know it lol. In the pics the snake is in shed, so it is dull looking. The snake was found by a utility worker under a piece of cover.

To bad the albino ringnecks are so uncommon and not bred. When the albino garters came out they were breed and out in numbers but seems albino ringnecks arent going anywhere.

My albino northern was bred this year and Justin plans on breeding his this coming spring. Albinos will probably be available in about 10 years, and in about 20 they'll probably be as common as corn snakes. But the reason why their aren't many albinos available is...the hatchlings, you'll need to raise the hatchlings up to adulthood, which could take anywhere from 3 to 6 years, depending on sub-species and sex. Most people don't wanna deal with ringnecks because of their small size, although some people, like me, prefer the snakes that are small over the ones that grow to 6 feet in length.

Nice to know they are being bred. As you know the albino ringnecks are great looking. I like the reg colors to but its nice to have albinos.
I have never seen an albino except in your pics. I imagine chances are that will be only place I see one.
