yeah, i was at the tinley park show... question about mealworms...

kingofrain21 Oct 10, 2004 07:41 PM

i purchased my first gecko and he's pretty cool, a "super hypo" with little touch of orange on his tail...
the vendor told me that they feed crickets... having read that you can also feed them mealworms, i picked some up at the show since they were available... well he won't touch the mealworms, but today he munched 6 crickets in about 3 minutes...

is it going to be hard to get him to feed on mealworms? i would prefer not to have to constantly keep crickets on hand, but if i have to, i have to...

also, there was a vendor at the show, a short girl with long pink and black dreads... does anyone know who this girl is? she's gorgeous- and she stopped me as i was on my way out to ask what i had... never occurred to me that she may be from around the area... stupid me! i had already torn my bracelet off when i realized i could have gone back today, not to mention i'm about an hour and 30 minutes away from tinley park... major bummer.
whoops, one more thing... albey's too cool geckos... AMAZING, but 750 dollars for a gecko? some of them were 900 dollars! that seems unreal to me, but then again i'm not a gecko guy... is that really a realistic price? i can't believe anyone would pay that much for a gecko - not trying to start a fight, just asking. (they were amazing)

I didn't make it to the show...but I know that Albey's geckos have always been top quality... and while I may never spend that much on a gecko, he certainly does sell them.

Think that's high...check out Urban Geckos sunglows....

Ya that girl definatly was pretty..i dont think she was a vendor rather like the daughter of a vendor and she was just helping out.I didnt get to talk to her either. But wow she was pretty. She had some beautiful animals to.Lucky you. I didnt get to get anything except some supplies cuz i was holding onto a friends iguana while he was on vacation and he called me a nd told me he didnt want it back..so i was like..man i cant keep this thing forever..i can watch it but not keep it.So i called up my friend who has always wanted an ig and let him have the ig.My mom said i cant get any pets till the ig is gone.My friend took the ig yesterday and i went to the show saturday. I was gunna get a 135 gallon tank from Twin Oaks but i didnt..that would have been for my beardies. Then i saw a really cool 50 gallon long tank i wanted to get for my leopard gecko..but by the time I had all my supplies bought..i was 25 bux to short. That place is definatly awsome tho. Im definatly goin next year
