I have a rat that just had babies and I took the other female rats out. I just wanted to know if it is safe to still keep them together. The other rat was in the same cage before she got pregnant.

Rats are communal animals and will help each other take care of pups. Just make sure they have enough room. Often you will see them take each other's pups and even nurse them. The only time I seperate them is when one group is 2 or more weeks ahead of the other. It seems to me that the older pups hog more than their share of the milk and the younger ones don't thrive. But not everyone agree's with me on that, so it's up to you.
