I think you havent gotten replies because not many people would house the two together. If they get along and are of the appropriate age (not going to go into puberty any time soon because they already have) then I dont see a problem. If I understand to two types, they both eat generally the same kinds of foods, fruits in particular. SO, I would use your own judgement and make sure they can get along. I would not house an adult with a baby or juvenile though.

I have a black and white and a red/blue hybrid of the relatively same size and age housed together with no problems at all.

One reason you haven't gotten many replies is because this question has been answered by the pros many times in this forum? Have you tried searching past posts yet? Apologies if you have, but try again and look close. As a "general" rule, housing different species is frowned upon if not downright dangerous. In your case, reds require slightly higher temps (again check past posts), and slightly more fruit. You very well may be able to house them together there entire life, and I'm sure some people have in the past. But it IS a risk, however small, so why take it? If you do decide to do it, then the smaller tank won't last long, so why not start off in the big one. The extra space may also help the 2 to get used to each other...
