I swear mine can recognize me by sight and sound, the come a running when they see or hear me
I'd think that their recognition is limited to food, non-food, and predator.

I believe mine can recognise me by sight, sound and smell too! For example, when I put my hand down their cage, some of them will walk straight up my arm without licking or smelling my hand first; when my family comes over, my sister and dad tried it, but my leos will lick/smell their hands for a LONG time, then walk away.
