Bath Question About Crested Gecko

ForestTime Oct 10, 2004 10:18 PM

I just aquired a Crested Gecko for my son. Question....do you guys give them baths?

I have an adult iguana & he gets baths on a regular basis.

Haven't read anything about baths/crested geckos & wondered.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Terri

Ahem....my spoiled baby....

LOL I am sorry that nobody is responding! I do not myself own a Crested, but am looking into getting one and so I come here from time to time to look.

I rememberd you and Forest on the Ig forum so I had to at least say hi. I stopped visiting that forum after Messenger passed away because it became hard for me.

I hope someone posts a response to answer your question.... but in my opinion I would think after feeling one.... that they would not do good with baths. That's just my opinion.

If you put a large enough container (pint deli cup size) in their enclosure they will "bathe" themselves. Also a nestbox with moist shredded coco or peat moss would be appreciated. Sometimes cresteds will burrow into the substrate and this helps to keep them hydrated and shedding well. -Derek

No!...do not give your cresteds baths, just spray the cage with room temp water once or twice a day!
