He caught a large soft shelled turtle and was explaining how dangerous the turtles mouth was. "Razor sharp" he says and then sticks his foot in front of it. Of course the thing takes a bite at him and takes a good sized chunk of leather out of the top of the toe area of his boot. And then he says, "that was dumb, I could have lost a toe"!! Dude, if I was to catch a common or alligator snapper that size, there is no way I would ever put any part of my body near its mouth!!!
Then he is free handling a mangrove snake and trying to piss it off so he can get a shot of its mouth open. Then the spitting cobra, and the king cobra, and etc.
Not good for unfamiliar people to be watching, and then go out and try to imitate him with our native venomous herps.
And we wonder why us herpers get such a bad rap!!
Atleast Jeff Corwin shows the animals respect and handles them cautiously.
I would watch Jeff over Irwin or Austin any day!!
