What camera do you have? I have a minolta DimageZ1 10x optical zoom so it takes great pics from far away as well as super macro shots.

I've got a Minolta Dimage G400. It has 10x zoom as well, but when I use zoom the pics are blurry. Do you have to put it on manual or something?

optical zoom is with the lens, beyond that I have 4x's digital making my camera a total of 40x's zoom.

Yours is 3x's optical 7x's digital making it 10x's total.

When using the digital zoom you'll get a fuzzy picture if your shakey, you have to keep still rest against something. You can also use manual focus.

When I switch mine to super macro shots of as close as .5 inches I switch to manual focus. If the lighting is not good you won't get a crisp macro shot though.

So when buying a camera if you want great far away shots go with a higher optical zoom.
