feeding baby prasina's

corallus1 May 15, 2003 04:42 AM

I have a pair of prasina's and about 4 months ago they bred. The female is now noticably pregnant. So Iam quit sure to be receiving offspring from her in a couple of months time. This is the first time I have offspring of this species and I don't have any idea how to feed, raise or house the babies. Has somebody succesfully raised babies of this species? Could you please share your experiences with me. Especially how and with what you gott the prasina babies to feed?? I would really appreciate any info,

Thanks in advance,
PJ

Hi,

Some time ago, a friend of mine obtained baby prasinas from a gravid wild caught female. He had to give them gecko tails through assist feeding since it was difficult to get suitably sized prey items.

Eventually, it became a pain and so he released them into the wild those that were not sold. Hope this helps.

Just wondered what you meant by 'released in the wild?' Do I assume correctly he was in the same country the female was collected in?

Yes, they were released back into the same area their mother came from. I'm Malaysian for your information.

Search the archive, there is a picture of baby prasina's feeding on fish from a bowl.
