Amount to feed crested?

maccordell Oct 11, 2004 07:37 PM

I have posted before about my crested, but I have another question. My crested is about a year old. The breeder I bought from feeds baby food with vitamins and cal added in. I've been doing that and even gave a cricket...He didn't eat the cricket, could it have been to small?

How much baby food should he be eating? I have been hand feedign him b/c I don't think he eats it otherwise. How do I know if it is eating enough?

I think he has lost a little weight as he is a touch thinner and has a few wrinkles now that he didn't have before.

First, I would say that babyfood with vits and calcium is not enough. If you want to feed that - then might I suggest the T-Rex Superfood diet - aka Crested Gecko Diet. Then you know they would be getting enough to eat - with nutritious food.

If you want to go with insects for an adult crested - you should give them more than one - and they should be at least 1/2 grown - at LEAST.

Good luck.
