Help identify this Rosy!

saber2th Oct 11, 2004 08:21 PM

Hello to all!

I'm calling on all fellow herpers! I picked up two Rosy Boas at the Chicago Show this past weekend. One was a nice Costal Rosy, this one I'm not sure. The seller was not the breeder, so he was not sure of this one. This is where I need your help! Here is a picture, can anyone help identify this Rosy. The striping is a real nice brown with a light cream background.

Thanks to all...............saber2th

The photo isn't real clear on my screen, but it looks like it could be an Arizona Chocolate.
Very nice snake.
Here's a pic of my Arizona Chocolate for comparison.

What about the ventral scales? Arizona specimens will have two rows of spots (railroad tracks) on the ventrals and one row on the subcaudals.

Your rosy boa looks like an Arizona to me as well, however it also looks like a crossbreed I have that is San Felipe/Mainland Mexican. Many people dislike hybrids of rosy boas, however mine look really nice and the 2 females are tri-colored and look really nice.
