So I was listening to the radio interview with Ron Tremper. When asked as to his current projects he mentioned working on an "all black leopard gecko". I listened again, my ears do not decieve me. He can't be refering to chinese cave geckos, he's gotta be refering to just regular leos. Has anyone seen a leo with even a little bit of black color?

Yeah, you are thinking of the hypermelanistic ones. I want one but nobody is giving them up.

It rubs the lotion on it's skin.
Bleach, good to clean tanks. Ammonia, good to clean tanks. Bleach mixed with Ammonia, good to make ammonium chloride gas to kill you while your cleaning tanks.

I know this isn't termed a "hyper mel" she is actually a midnight blizzard. And yes she stays this black all the time. She was to thin to breed last season when I got her, and I have now found a male midnight to go with her that a reputable breeder has been dabbing in also. I should have some hopefully cute black babies this season.

Heh yes, I do remember you post quite a while ago asking if it was normal or something along those lines. She's quite pretty and unique -- good luck breeding!

I actually got the one in a pic from a snake guy who knew nothing about leos. He had got them in a trade and didn't know there was anything special about her. I have since recieved two more midnights from a well known breeder to match up to this girl.

Put me on the waiting list if you are going to breed them. Or you could email who it was you got them from. I looked through tons of breeder websites and noone had any listed available.
