If you crossed a male Black and White banded California Kingsnake with a female Brown and Yellow banded California Kingsnake, then what would the babies look like? Surely someone has done that before.

You should get all bandeds. You might get some aberrancies depending on if the banding on the 2 snakes are the same width. As far as color, the yellow & brown combo will overpower your white & black. If you were to keep breeding your offspring to each other from this pairing, you would get fewer white & blacks, and get more brown & yellows; eventually ending up with brown & yellows. "IF" your goal is white & blacks, then you need to isolate those and breed for THAT.

Your yellow and brown snakes will not appear as such as babies and will intensify as they get older. But you can tell the difference between them and the white & blacks. After they go through their first shed you need to take them out in daylight, that is where you can see their true colors.

When people try to produce a certain morph (black & white) or (brown & yellow) it can take a couple of generations to isolate those colors, especially if their was a mix in colors a couple of generations ago.

Wow, I didnt know that. I have a black and white banded female and a yellow and black abberant male. I was hoping to get a good mix, but I personally prefer black and white. Im going to have to get some more black and white snakes now. Good post, good info!
