When your Corn Snake gets out and you cannot seem to find it, where is it likely to go to?
Anywhere......wish i had a better answer for you....

That's a tough one, but what I have found is that most snakes will go to the nearest wall and then crawl along it until they find a suitable hiding spot. Sooooo think like a snake and check every place you think it could fit into. Then once you've done that twice, got to every place you don't think it could fit into and try there. Good luck. Oh, and a funny story about a corn snake escape for you.....when I was in college waaayy back in 1987, I had several corns that I kept in the common area of my dorm suite. Well, my big (about 3.5 feet) miami phase male got out just before Thanksgiving and I turned the place upside down looking for him in all the places I *thought* he could be. Looked for 2 or 3 straight days to no avail and figured he either got out or someone else found him in the hallway and kept him or let him go (I live in FL and he was collected right on campus). Anyway, at the end of the following semester in May, one of my suitemates was clearing out his books and there he was, curled up behind his books on a shelf above the desk. Now it was usually no warmer than about 68 degrees in the dorms and he came out of his "hibernation" none the worse for wear. Of course the big joke was how my suitemate must not have been doing much studying if that book never left the shelf for 6 months!! Again, good luck! Billy

Yep, we have had our escape a few times and he will travel down against the wall and into the nearest dark corner. We have found him in the back of the closet, in a drawer, and under the couch. I do not have the locking lids and we were piling books on top of the cage lid to weight it down and he still escaped, the books still on top! What I have done now is buy strips of velcro and line the rim of the cage and then the rim of the lid. It is rather difficult to get off, but we don't take the lids off that often and so far no one has escaped. Good luck finding your snake!

They go wherever those missing socks always end up.
I have had several escape over the last few years and only found one. Every escape as been due to my carelessness, just not making sure a lid is secure after placing a snake back in it's enclosure.

I had one escape and found it ontop of the kitchen counter, therefore it went into the cubbard where the pipes come through and leads to under the house and it went up instead, the other corn I had was never found till this day, they will 90% of the time stay in the same room, and go along the wall and end up in a warm spot, like the refridge, motor of a dishwasher, surge protector of a TV stereo, computer etc, , i left a lid off my corns tank just the other day and the next morning i realize it and she stayed inside the whole time, i was ammmmazed!! But go corner to corner, bang couches and chairs and leave flour road blocks for trail indicators inbetween rooms or the tile around the refridge or under the sinks, cabnets etc. Good luck.
