Classroom Vivarium Update

sjohn Oct 12, 2004 07:12 AM

Here's a few pics from my classroom vivarium.

This is the 12 ft. vivarium that his home to a group of chucks and a collard lizard.

This the big male chuck I got from Tom about five years ago.

This is the female, they have not produced any young'ins. She is much smaller than the male. I'm not real sure why, I'm thinking about separarting her for awhile to see if that may make a difference.

That's what the kids think when they first see the chucks under the rocks...they are getting squashed. But they find out that's what chucks do... squeeze into rocks. We created the vivarium with lots of crevices for this purpose.

I only brought in 1.1 corn snakes this year. I have a very small room and couldn't fit my larger vivs in. : (

But who knows what type of room I'll have set up next year. Hope mine will look as nice as yours.

Very nice, and an awesome set up for your classroom. Wow, how I would have enjoyed that as a kid ! Probably as much as NOW, hehehhee

Your male looks extremely healthy and handsome, I also have a male redback from Tom, (goodlooking too !)

Your female looks very snug and content, up there on her pile.
as far as size my female is quite small compared to my one male the same age.

I find they all differ so much. As my other nevada male is very large, and all of them including the female, are GREAT eaters.

I wish you great success with some youngins in the future!
Keep the pics coming, enjoyed them,
