Can you tell me what is the weight (grams) of an normal burmese python egg in average ?
Thanks !
I bred burmese throughout the 1980's and early 90's and recorded a lot of data on a fair number of females and their clutches. I do not have good egg weight data at hatching, as I used maternal incubation 95% of the time, but the typical egg will lose 15 to 20% of its initial weight by the time it hatches. I was able to catch many of the females in the act of laying or very shortly afterward, and could so get a fair amount of initial weights. At laying, out of all the eggs weighed, the range was about 190 to 250 grams. The average egg weight I had came out to just under 230 grams. Hope this helps. Thanks,
Kelly
