How long do they last.....rats.....freezer.............

Jw but how long do rats last when kept in your freezer? the rats won't be vacuumed sealed. My BP is finally eating FT rats and he/she is taking weaned rats, however the smallest quantity to order from rodentpro.com is 20. Will the rats last for 4-5 , months in the freezer?

I've used frozen Rats that were over a year old with no problem. 4-5 months shouldn't cause any trouble.

Yup, not vacuum sealed. However they were at the bottom of a chest freezer so they were in more of a deep freeze then you would get in your typical freezer compartment in a refrigerator. Maybe that makes a difference. In any case, they looked fine, smelled fine when thawed and were eaten without hesitation.

How long would you leave a piece of meat in the freezer before you consider it "bad"? It takes a while, and usually it's freezer burn that ruins it, especially in a frost-free freezer.

I've used 3 year old fuzzy mice...and they are alot smaller than a rat.....

I do not sell stuff this old.....but I end up being the one to get stuck using it........

.............

once asked a big breeder from way back.......he told me.....

till they're gone..that's how long they'll last......
