It's very likely. Why haven't you been handling him?

there is always a chance that your lizards can bite you. however, just be careful when picking him up. try to scoop him into your hand and not so that your palm is resting on his back. as i always say, how would you like it if some big hand was grabbing at you? try to be a moving ledge and not an eagle talon

You can also try what Eve suggested to me... handle them when they're a little cool. It slows them down and then they can get used to being handled again.

All my lizards love to be petted on the head with the pad on the tip of my finger. This worked even on wc baby and on cb Ezra but not as well on him. Annabella is a wc juvenile and she is like "Take me out of the cage" and once you do she just falls asleep in your hand and likes to be petted usually.
My Issey is one lizard who does bite unless I approach him in the following manner. I clinch my hand and rub his dewlap with my index finger knuckle ( this way if he bites there is no skin to grab onto although he has never bitten me when approached in this way) and then when he looks relaxed (not long at all), I extend my finger under his belly and he will just crawl right up on my hand. Once there he will let me do just about anything, but mess with his tail.
