Unusual Stools in Kingsnake

madmatt Oct 12, 2004 05:47 PM

Sitaution: Florida kingsnake, off-feed, has stools that contain normal whitish parts of stools, but in place of the dark organic part of stool, there is liquid varying in color from clear to amber. There are funny "tapioca-like gelatinous blobs." The color of the blobs is the same as a tapioca ball or a garbanzo bean, an off-white to amber coloring. The size of the blobs varies from BB size to garbanzo bean size. They are somewhat firm when pressed, but uniform in texture and density, like squishing a cooked bean.
There is some pink tinging of the feces, but not obvious blood, unless the pink tinge is from minute amounts of blood.
My first shot was to allow more heat to see if it that will help her. I am currently waiting a new stool sample to run to the vet. The amount expelled is small but stinks extra bad. Has anyomne encountered this before? My trust of herp vets is not great.
Anyone see this stuff before?
This has lasted about six days.

I think the fecal analysis will give you the answer to this one. I've seen this from coccidiasis, Giardia, and Entamoeba.
