Are worm snakes illegal to own in NC?

cesktw0 Oct 12, 2004 06:46 PM

I was thinking of purchasing a worm snake also known as the "blind snake" And i was wondering if anyone could please help me with where I could get the information on what snakes are illegal to own in the state of NC. i didnt think that they would be illegal to own but i had read that they are illegal to own, harm, harass or poses in the state of Massachuetts. Im new to this state also so i have no knowledge of any laws on reptiles here. I also do not see them commonly in the pet trade. Thank you!

As far as I can tell they are legal to own here. If I understand correctly, you can have up to five native species before you would need a premit but that may just be if you plan to sell them. For non-native species Im not sure if there is a limit. The other site has a section on laws you could check as well.
