A new "marker" trait for pied hets

anson Oct 13, 2004 04:49 PM

Here is a good one. Just stick your hand in the enclosure with them and if one tries to KILL you that is the het for sure.
At least with mine it is!

I have a nice normal big female that sounds like a leaking tire when we get near her. I can still hear her hiss after I leave the room and close the door, too. "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" One day I'm sure she's going to take a deep breath and just pop like a balloon.

I am beginning to think I am running a home for mute snakes.
The male het doesn't hiss he just starts striking at me from the moment I open the door till I leave and even then he just strikes at the air as I walk away.
All the rest of them I have are the tamest things I have ever seen. I can rub their heads. hold their snouts with my fingers rub them all over. Reach in and grab them any old way and none ever strike or hiss. They may zoom into an s shape like they will strike but none ever have. I handle all of them very much and touch their heads and face from the time they are babies hoping to get them very accustomed to handling in case I ever have to administer meds or de worm them they will be used to the handling.

LMAO, mine doesn't tend to actually hiss at me...

She just goes from "i'm cool" to "KILL!"

None of my het or possible hets has ever been aggressive toward me, unless it's time to eat, then they are ravenous.
