thomas davis Oct 13, 2004 07:44 PM

well cleo our eastern king passed away today veryvery sad for the whole family his final measurement is 83and1/4 inches and roughly 6lbs(bathroom scale),cleo was hatched in 1990. the bizarre thing about his death was it appeared as if it was choking that was the cause or perhaps heart failure?,today it was feeding day 3f/t adult mice a week i warm the mice and toss them in his cage way ive done it for years checked back within in hour and he had eaten 2 completely and third appeared stuck somewhat down his gullet all that was showing was the tail and cleo had his mouth open as if gasping?i dunno, but he was gone
,,, RIP old friend, fortunately i do have to '03 offspring sired by him, and his spirit can now live on thru them,,,,,,thomas davis

Sorry to hear that Thomas! 83.25" WOW!!! That IS impressive! Great job giving him a happy life! I hope my big Goini x Eastern (75" and a bit over 5 lbs) will live at least long enough to breed next spring so I can keep his "Spirit" alive . . .

MAY CLEO REST IN PEACE!!!

a huge loss not only for you but for all of us as well. I think you know how much I thought of that King when I made repeated attempts to buy him a few years ago. He looked like a magnificent beast and I thought one of the most all around spectacular Easterns Ive seen.He had all the qualities that make Eastern Kings the regal animals that they are. Again Thomas Im sorry for you loss.

Regards

Keith

p.s. His pic will be up on my website always.

I remember the first time I saw his pic posted here...I was blown away by the sheer size of the brute, hehe. He was a beautiful snake and I'm sure you gave him a wonderful life.
Take care,

I am very sorry to hear this. I was never in to eastern kings that much until I saw a picture of that awesome snake. Most of you know what I am talking about. You can always remember the picture that opened your eyes towards a type of snake, and from that point on you just had to have one.

I am truly sorry man

Sorry for your loss.

I had 5' brooksi that lived to be 16 years od age.

I had to euthanize her because she egg bound, and the only procedure left was surgery, and I didn't want to put her through that.

I'm glad that your animal's genes live on, and you did a great job keeping Cleo healthy.
