Tortiose nail care

neeke10 Oct 13, 2004 08:31 PM

Hi all..I have 2 Greeks and a redfoot tortoise. They are all growing long nails. How do I cut them and how do I make sure I am not cutting the sensitive area on their foot?

I used a regular nail clipper on my Egyptian. Just cut the clear part of the nail & everything will be fine.

...try a hand held Dremmel® for larger species

I don't think a "regular" nail clipper would do much to my leo's nails (they're about 1/8" thick!) Thanks...

...take your time and keep a cool head because you're holding a 30000 rpm MONSTER and it's not even Halloween just yet
