What I do whenever one of mine has an issue shedding is I get some vermiculite out and put some in one of those ziplock food containers with the blue tops. I mix in some water with the vermiculite put 1 hole in the SIDE of the container and put the crested in there for about 30 min or so. USE THE FOOT LONG containers so they have some room and dont freak. The shed should come off in no time.

PS
This is especially effective with juviniles and hatchlings if they dont shed well there first time or are to small to really help out.
A plastic shoe box with sopping wet paper towels works well too. An alternative is to blast him several times a day, directly, with a plant mister. Should clear up w/o any problem. Have not really seen any shedding problems in cresteds, mainly in Leopards.
