Quails anyone??? : )

HerpCrazy Jun 28, 2003 11:05 AM

I just hatched out a bunch of baby quail.
I was wondering if anyone has fed them to their snakes?
They seem to be the perfect size for baby ball pythons, were dirt cheap (40 eggs for $11.00 shipped! So far 35 hatched), the bad thing is...... Man, are they cute! : )

I'll try to get some pics when they have all dried and fluffed up. : )

Later,
Jen

They came from Tennessee. : )
I got the eggs on
www.eggbid.com
It's like Ebay but they auction off eggs, chickens, and other poultry. : )

It's pretty cool.

Thanks,
Jen

What did you hatch them in?

I used my trusty old Hovabator. : ) With an auto turner of course. Took 16 days @ 100F.
I've got duck eggs cooking now, can't wait to see those!

Wow, I dont know how you guys do it.
I have ducks living at my house, pet hamsters, etc...
I can't imagine feeding any of them to my dragon!
I guess I'm a wuss, but if they aren't already dead... I cant mess with them.

I was thinking of using quail chicks for my ball python, but I think someone said it might make the stool stinkier because....don't remember. Also quails when frightened jump up...thus you gotta be careful what roof they got over their head and how they land.
