Liquid Blog in cage!!!!

gabbytabby Oct 14, 2004 07:10 AM

I recently bought a leopard Gecko 2 days ago and did all the research and cage set up before I brought her home. An hour after putting her in her new home I found an off-white liquidy blob with a small black substance in it. Today I found the same thing but this time with a small white thing in it. I decided to let it dry to see what it looks like and after drying the milky white blob disappeared leaving just the little white thing and a brown dried out substance (brown stuff looked like it was possibly loose stool?) Since I'm new to being a Gecko owner I'm not sure what the difference in appearance is between stool, vomit and egg laying. Do eggs come out in a blobish substance? Is this vomit and if so should I be extremely concerned about it being parasites or maybe just stress to environmental change?

The day I brought her home she was alert and active exploring her cage, but last night she didn't come out to eat or explore at all! Aren't they nocturnal? However, each time the blob appeared she had just eaten shortly before it happened. Please help!
Thanks!

thhats just poop in her cage, its sounds like its a little loose but nothing to worry about as long as she is growing and gaining weight and its normal for a newley accquired leo not to be too active for the first few days.As long as she is eating all is well.On a side note, leos aren't a real active species, mine come out to eat then go right back to their hids.I'm sure they move around more when I'm sleeping but they are kinda shy and don't like to be watched.
