LOST SNAKE!

totalzengarden Oct 14, 2004 08:19 AM

Hello all,

Can anyone give me advice on searching for a lost snake? My two-year-old baby corn snake escaped from his enclosure (inside my house) sometime yesterday and I conducted a panic-stricken search for him last night. I checked in the most obvious places, but I cannot find him. Should I remain calm and hope he appears when he is ready??

Any advice is much appreciated.

Also not too sure if the above post will show these tips or not. So if they do, sorry for you reading this stuff twice. Some things I have tried are:
Putting plastic bags along the floorboards of certain walls, then you can hear them if they are on the move. For they will stay against the wall.
Put a pinky in a can on some linoleum. So if they go and eat, you can hear them strike the can. That is how I found mine when one of them escaped.
Hopefully those will help with the search. And good luck with it.

well you've looked in the obvious places. now look in the spots where it may be actually hiding. tear eveyrhting apart. if you have a box sealed open it, it mya have crawled in. if its too small to fit in something, look anyway. they have a way of getting in really small spaces. but first look along each wall by the cage it escaped from. see where ti could go up. typically they will go along a wall then go up to somewhere that it can hide in. for example my licorice stick black rat got out a week or so ago. i went one way then got to my computer desk and tv and figured too much noise so i went the other direction. tore my whole room apart. then got back to the tv inset in the wall. she was up underneath a cd case on there. so look where you dont think they would be.
