a few questions

justinmatthew Jun 28, 2003 11:29 AM

I am currently considering purchasing one or two balls in the near future and while I know the basics of ball pythons and snakes in general from my keeping of kings, and through various reading and care sheets there are a few questions I have regarding the housing of multiple balls. Does it matter the sex of the balls housed together? Can more than two be housed together? What problems arise from multiple snakes together? I am already aware of the problems with feeding. If I purchase two, from the same dealer do I have to quarintine them for a time. Thanks for any help in advance.

Although, BPs may coexist in the same enclosure, it is not recommended. My experience has been that they do just fine, but not as well as when they are separate. Males I have seen, tend to battle each other for a little bit upon introduction. After a while, they stop, but it's still stressful on both.

I would quarantine everything from my existing stock. But if these two have already been housed together, I don't think quarantine would matter much (from each other). But in my house, they would be separated anyway so the point is moot.
