Humidity Box Temp?

mjones Oct 14, 2004 11:20 AM

I have an under tank heat strip (10" X 10" below the Humidity bow which now has a thermostat connected. What temp should the inside of the humidity box be adjusted to?
The problem I had last time was the snake suffered blisters not from the heat but from lying in the warm sphagnum moss.
If this is not a good way of heating please advise.

Thanks

MJ

I would say 82-85 is usually a good even temp for a snake to spend its day in. I'm assuming you also have a basking area thats warmer and so forth. I'm not 100% sure what an exact temp. would be, but thought my honest opinion was better than no reply at all. Good luck!

Alinda

I have put in another level in the tank so the humidity box is not directly on the heated surface which caused very bad blistering last time.
