I dont understand these things....

My post-op cham Lola seems to be a recovering a little. But, now she seems to actually want to be held. I first attributed this to the fact that she might be cold and that my body temp felt good to her, but I bought a second heat lamp and made sure the temps were ideal. I have no idea whats going on. She's eating and getin her medicines. Any thoughts?

my thoughts? you are lucky - she is thanking you for all your care and love! OK, a bit of anthropomorphizing there but isn't that in part what makes us such good keepers?

Honestly I cannot tell you why. Does she come to you when you approach the cage? Sometimes they just want out. The jungle gym I have set up for Luna is great b/c she can come and go as she wishes (usually) and she is safe from harm. It also gives her exercise that she can't get in a cage - even a big one. I know they don't do a whole lot of traveling but, as you mentioned earlier, I sometimes struggle with the whole "kept" thing so I try and give her as much "natural" freedom that I can.

OK, sort of went off subject there...What's most important is that your little girl is doing better and is healing well.

It could be several things...she likes sitting on something softer and more resilient than a perch, or that she's just not thinking like her normal territorial self. If she seems to like it enjoy it while it lasts!
