I was curious if there are any significant differences in length and/or girth. Im thinking that they are the same in size , am I wrong? If so which is larger USUALLY. Thanks....

Both are considered the "Big Kings" of the Getula complex (im including all Floridana in the discussion). The Eastern King has the record at 82" but thats old and both Floridana and Eastern Kings have passed it up (see Thomas D's now deceased Eastern at over 82"
but its a rarity. On average I would guess Easterns get bigger but really its a toss-up plus some of those Floridana get really beefy.

And I mean USUALLY, the Eastern King is the lengthier of the two subspecies. And USUALLY, the Florida King is the more heavy bodied of the two and tends to weigh more if both species are of same length and health. In other words, a 5 foot Eastern King is very big, while a 5 foot Florida King is Bigger (in girth and weigth). I base this from personal observations of hundreds if not thousands of E. Kings and Fl. Kings.

... a few absolute giants I have seen were Apalachicola/goini/blotched kings (you decide what to call 'em)! According to some, an intergrade between the two.
