Screen vs Plexiglass

ForestTime Oct 14, 2004 03:41 PM

Hi all. I have recently been given a young Crested Gecko & have been looking at cages for the past couple days on the internet.

The ones I've been considering have a hinged door on the front with a seperate smaller door on the bottom for changing water, substrate etc.

Question.......while both kinds are said to be for CG, some have a screen type covering while others have plexiglass walls.

Which do you guys suggest? I'm so confused!

Thanks,
Terri

LOL I am going through the same issue!

My 2 Cresteds will be here on Tuesday and after looking and looking at ready-built enclosures I have decided to have one made. I have been reading that crested's need moisture, but not too much. Most people I have talked to have reccomended screen to provide plenty of ventilation and not trap all of the moisture in. What my husband is building for me (right now actually) is 2 cages both 19 1/2 wide X 30 tall X 21 wide. It will mostly be wood with plexiglass front door and screen top for ventilation. This is totally trial and error though and I would be intersted if you find an enclosure that works for you.........
