Are Oak, Maple, and or Ash leaves safe for Chameleons?
In what way? Eating? As substrate? Oak is high in tannins and the leaves are pretty tough. I don't think it would be a great snack for veggie loving chams. But, just using them in the cage for a cham that doesn't snack as part of foliage or substrate shouldn't be a problem.
Lol
For my pygmies as substrate as i have an abundance of these leaves around the yard
I usually use Pothos leaves but there are not enough to go around!
To snack on ...lol... 2funny
I was wondering, too
Just keep in mind that you may be bringing in some interesting insects with your leaves - not one that you want. you may want to give them a freeze for awhile to kill anything. Mites in particular is what I am thinking.
