Nice tegu, but it's not a good idea to use sand as a substrate.

Sand is only covers 20% of the floor. This is a 2 story cage with 1 foot of cypress on one bottom side, a few inches of sand on the other bottom side, and ceramic tile up top where the heat is. The sand is soft and cool, and he uses this to poop in, so it works great. He still burrows and spends the night in the cypress.
