Has anyone tried earwigs for their HL's?

Does anyone have a good source for them?

Hey Cable,

if it means anything to you, Earwigs are among the first available wild insects that I can get in my yard. My HLs have all relished earwigs, along with just about any other lizard I have kept. I try to de-pincerize the males if I'm going feed them to small lizards, as I have seen a pretty close call with a Side-Blotched Lizard and his eye being nearly poked out.

As for a source, I don't know of any, yet. I'll let you now if I dig something up. How are the hernandesi? Talk to you soon,

It's good to know someone else has had good experience with them Phil.
The Henandesi are doing ok but have slowed in their interest of earwigs. This seems to be the case with most non-ant foods. They really go after them at first, then they just lose interest. I fed bees to them yesterday and the big female must have eaten 7 of them. Today she only ate a couple and quit.
Ants seem to be the key but they do like the added variety for sure.

Hey Cable,

small beetles are insects that my HLs never tired of. the ones I'm referring to are flightless black ground beetles without the nasty pincer-like mouthparts. I would throw about thirty in the pen at a time, for a week straight, and they would lap them up with great zeal. Elm beetles seemed to be another favorite as well. I continued to offer ants as well, but they chose the beetles when offered at the same time. Strange how their tastes change. Perhaps it has something to do with individuals, too. more two cents.... heh talk to you soon.

-Phil
