Yesterday my husband took me hiking in Red Rocks at a place where there's a spring and we caught wild tree frogs, pretty plained colored compared to yours. I don't know if they're native to Clark County Las Vegas!

Hey Nicole,

You were probably seeing Pacific Treefrogs, and they are native from the Pacific Coast to Eastern Nevada. They're pretty cool, being highly variable in color. I have found solid green ones, to almost orange. You can reliably tell a Pacific from many other frogs by the presence of a "robber's mask" along each side of the face behind the eyes, and obviously toe pads.

Hey Eve,

That is an awesome red-eye. How are they in captivity compared to your greens? Cool frogs. Hope to talk soon,

regards,
-Phil

I have a small group of red eyes at home. One of the males was calling last night, and I had to move them out of the room because he was so loud I couldn't sleep!

As far as care goes, at least in my expericence, they are quite simple to keep, as long as you keep them at the correct temperature, keep their substrate clean enough, and feed them right before you turn out the lights.

Later, Phil.

I agree with Fabian, I find them fairly easy NOW ! Years ago, I had 1 die, before I got it right.

I have had my pair for about 3 or more years. Keeping them spotless is a MUST.

They are EXQUISITE !

I like frogs , I keep green tree frogs and a BIG african Bullfrog as well.
