How is your MBK? Mine just passed his first summer, handles and eats VERY well generally. However, this week I saw something that I have never seen & cannot explain. (I've had Kings for least 6-8 years.)
He had eaten 2 days before, was accustomed to eating every 2-3 days on mostly fuzzies or small hoppers. Had never rejected anything, not even during pre-shed when eyes were blue.
Tuesday, he found one fuzzy. Looked like he constricted because he stayed motionless in the area for many minutes. Later, he casually crawled away, leaving the unconstricted, dead prey! Same thing for the 2nd prey animal; he didn't even investigate it! He crawled into his den and remained there the entire night.
He had been exercised before that, had not exhibited any illness signs whatsoever, and had been quite active.
Two days later, he ate a much larger hopper that was almost a sub adult. Any idea why, one time - on one day only, he would ignore 2 prey items while seemingly in good health, and then eat normally 2 days later?
