Anyone here keep AFTs??? >>>>

How are they as pets??? There is a show coming up in September and if I can't get a snake, I want an AFT. I'm thinking of the usual setup: 10-20L tank, paper towel substrate, humid hides (since I know they like it more humid), water dish, food dish, UTH on rheostat, the works.

the AFT's are great pets. they seem a little slower, more gentle then leos, in my experience, and are equally tame. they do need a little more space then leos, so i'd go with the 20l. AFT's are beautiful.

and their great! As the post above said, they seem to be much more docile then their cousins, they move much slower and gracfully, naturally tame. I house mine in a 15 gal, bed-a-beast as a substrate (I've used this for years, no problems, works great dry, and wet, holds moisture for a long time), a humid hide, a rock looking dry hide, a water dish, a rock, and a couple of fake plants (this is one of the few "naturalistic" cages I have). They are generally smaller then leopard geckos, and you can easially house a pair in a 10 gallon tank with all the cage furniture required. African Fat-Tails are great, if you like leopards then you'll love them.
