Yesterday while on shift at the fire station we caught an odd job, We were called for snakes in a house. While being the herp lover i am (only one on my crew) we pull up and i grab the tongs and hook and head into the house while my partner is holding the Flashlight and bag. well we meet with the lady and she stated she had 2 small snakes in the basement stairwell, we so go down the stairs and see one on the wall I identfy it as a black snake and place him in the bag by hand..we noticed more of the basement and asked if there were any down there and she wasnt sure so we checked it out....well as we are lookin we find snake after snake. 5 total, everytime we found one they got a little bigger maxing out at about 6' in length, these are some of the best looking rat snakes ive seen I currently housing them at home due to the cold weather i hate to let them go and find them dead...Anyway just wanted to share my story

Cool! Another ratsnake enthusiast/fire fighter. I breed black rats myself, and I have 3 that are MO locale. If you would, please e-mail me at culebra@ureach.com. Thanks in advance.
