Fearless collared !

mizar 21 Oct 15, 2004 11:15 AM

Yesterday i let my 25 inch iguana free roam for the first time, he decided to pay a little visit to my collared...What a show ! Thank god my collared was in his enclosure. The iguana came very close to the glass of the enclosure , about 4 inch of the collared. Instead of fliyng in his hide, he (the collared) stand his ground, hissing all that he can, puffing up his body, standing up on his four leg and the tail waving in the air ! I think that if it werent for that glass he would have attack the iguana ! That 8 inch of attitude against 25 inch of green curiosity, lol. Well after 5 years of owning a collared he still amazed me.

that is pretty funny and must have been a sight to watch. small animals are pretty spunky when it comes to being defensive. i have known many large dogs to cower away in situations while little dogs have almost gotten themselves killed. you have better tell that iguana to leave the collared alone!

Hey there,

you saw a Collared in his prime defense against other lizards. It looks intense, but I really wonder if they would have the same hutzpah out of the cage. I don't think he would have out and out attacked the Iguana, he may have looked meaner, but its neat to see their natural reactions, isn't it? I had a long-Tailed Brush Lizard (Urosaurus graciosus) and the little beast attack postured against my baby Bearded Dragon, who was kept in another tank across the room. The Beardie actually dove under his rocks when she'd display.... Kinda funny to see a lizard half the other's size bossing something bigger around. My thoughts. talk to you soon,

Best,
Phil

LOL, Funny, nice to see you, he has always been FULL OF ATTITUDE that guy! Glad to see hes still A TERROR !

These collareds are amazing , So hysterical to see a newly hatched little squirt open his tiny mouth and hunch up in an attack stance, when he first sees your hand.

Gotta respect them, and sure Have to LOVE EM !

They are so funny! The other day my adult collareds were hanging out on the monitor while I worked on the pc. 6 week old Hermes was brought over and plunked down to meet everybody. The big guys barely looked over at him and had no reaction: ho humm, a baby. But Hermes was ready for a fight! He was so cute and funny, doing his little pushups while the others ignored him. I sure wished I had a camera ready for that one.
