Euphrates Softshell Turtle...

TJ. Oct 15, 2004 11:28 AM

Hi! I've been doing field research on Softshell Turtles here in the U.S. and I heard a news report about the Euphrates Softshell Turtle (rafetus euphraticus) and the draining of the Shat-El-Arab (?) marshes by bad ol' Saddam. Was wondering if the marshes are being rehabilitated and if anyone was doing research on the reintroduction of these turtles in that area. I would like to see a photo of one and any info would be nice. Thanks! TJ in Minnesota.
