fattening up an ig

dragonflygirl109 Oct 15, 2004 01:25 PM

i have a friend who has an ig that isn't sick but you can feel it's hip bones. He acts healthy and usually eats healthy. Here lately he isn't eating as much and we think it's because of breeding season. Does anyone know of any food we can feed him that is healthy and might also fatten him up a little or is it normal for you to be able to "feel" their hip bones?

Wow what a big difference. In your first picture that is how hers (my friend) looks like. Not skin and bones but like he might need a little more weight. I told her to just keep pushing the greens it might fatten up on it's own.

Your friend should also take her ig to a vet and get a fecal check to make sure that there are no parasites robbing the ig of food. If it does have parasites then the vet will treat it and your friend will see weight coming on it.
