~ Closer to the light ~ UVB

PHEve Oct 15, 2004 02:09 PM

I have some 40 wide breeder tanks and some just high tanks. I had just replaced all my uvb lights, but some of the higher tanks, its tough getting them (the collareds with in the benificial range.

I have high basking sites slate on bricks, and some large rocks for sleeping under, but needed something higher that they would utilize. We had old patio blocks, like cinder blocks, I soaked them, and then smashed them so they were not just square anymore.

They became cool HIGH, climbing ledges with NEAT cut outs for them to run in and out of. I made sure they were situated with room behind, and achored them.

My collareds now are REAPING the FULL benifits of the UVB lights. And no matter when you look , theres always atleast 2 lizards on there,

Squashy and Lakoda playing

I bet they love the lights. I've been getting mine outside more, now that it was cooled down to the 90s in the day.

They're so cute! I was thinking of doing that with out spare cinderblocks, but, I can't lift them. =P

How often do you need to replace the UVB?
